NRT Practitioner, Medical degree (Brazil)

Since 2003, when I started medical school in Brazil, I wanted to heal people. That was my dream.

In 2010, early in my career, I became pregnant for the first time. An ultrasound showed that I had low amniotic fluid. But it was not investigated, there was no proper follow-up, and no plan was made.

At 23 weeks of pregnancy, I lost my baby boy. He had already passed away, and I had to go through labor and deliver him.

After that, I discovered that I had an autoimmune condition called antiphospholipid syndrome, which can affect blood clotting and pregnancy.

I found a specialist who really listened to me. He investigated my case, understood what was happening, and followed me closely. After that, I was able to have my two daughters, Lara and Melissa.

That experience changed the way I saw medicine. While that specialist helped me, conventional medicine's approach had failed me overall. It only gave me one answer: manage the condition. But I started asking myself: What if I could understand what my body needed to truly rebalance? What could I do to prevent other problems from happening in the future?

I did not want to only treat disease. I wanted to help people prevent it and improve their quality of life.

During the years I worked in conventional medicine, I saw many of the same complaints come back again and again. I knew how to handle emergencies. I knew how to treat disease. But many times, I could not understand what was happening between one visit and the next.

I started paying more attention to something that seemed simple, but had a huge impact: people's food choices. What they ate when they were tired, busy, or alone. How they ate when they were trying to manage everything in their lives.

After fifteen years of practicing medicine in Brazil, I came to the United States with my husband and my daughters, looking for a different path. I felt conventional medicine could not give me what I needed: a way to help people take care of their health before disease started.

I do not hold a medical license in Texas, USA, as my work here is focused on a different approach to health. My medical background helps me bridge conventional and functional medicine.

I studied medicine at Universidade Metropolitana de Santos and graduated in 2008. I completed my pediatric residency at Hospital Municipal Carmino Caricchio in 2012, and I also completed postgraduate training in pediatric emergency medicine at Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein.

I worked at Hospital São Camilo in São Paulo for a long time in emergency and outpatient medicine. I supervised teams and helped develop patient safety protocols.

I loved the fast pace of emergency medicine. I loved the moment when a family came in scared and, after receiving the right treatment, I could look at them and say that everything was going to be okay.

But over time, I started to realize that I could treat the problem happening at that moment, but I could not always prevent the same pattern from happening again.

When I arrived in the United States, I was tired. It was the kind of tiredness that, after some time, starts to feel normal. I needed something different. I needed to understand what I had been missing all those years.

That was when I found Mind and Body Solutions and Nutrition Response Testing. I saw people who had been living with symptoms for years begin to feel relief when they changed their diet and started paying attention to what their bodies needed.

And then it happened to me.

I went through the program, changed my diet, and started taking the recommended supplements.

A few months later, I realized I was starting to recognize myself again.

I had more energy. More focus. More clarity.

My relationship with my family, especially with my daughters, changed in ways I had not expected.

I was more present. I had more energy to be with them. I felt more like myself again. My daughters saw this transformation. They began to see a different version of their mother.

That change was not just about how I felt physically. It changed the way I lived my life and the way I connected with the people I love.

Today, I work as a Nutrition Response Testing practitioner at Mind and Body Solutions in Houston, Texas, where I help people understand how nutrition and lifestyle can support their health.

I believe the body has the ability to heal and rebalance when we give it the right support.

When we pay attention to what we eat and the supplements we use, we can support the body's natural processes and address some of the factors that may contribute to inflammation and poor health.

For me, it is less about only stopping what has already gone wrong.

It is more about understanding what the body needs and giving it the support to do its own work.

This is the path I was looking for.
